My name is Craig Glass and I live in Melbourne, Australia. On November 20, 2011 I had an accident on my bicycle that left me with a brachial plexus injury to my left arm. Initially I had full paralysis but as a result of nerve transfer surgery there is hope I will get some movement back.
The injury was a result of training for my passion of triathlon. Over the last ten years I have competed in all length races from sprint to Ironman. My one and only Ironman was achieved at Port Macquarie in 2011. It was such a great experience that I was training for the next one when the accident occurred.
My profession is in education and I am Senior Vice-Principal of Haileybury, Australia’s largest private school. I focus is on the educational program for students from 3 to 18 years old.
have you gained mobility to your arm?
Hi David
Limited mobility. It is at the point that people don’t notice I have an injury, but I can’t do many things as it is not strong.
However from where it started it is remarkable.
